RTÉ Concert Orchestra
Conductor David Brophy

Beoga is the Irish for ‘lively’ and it’s the perfect name for this hugely talented, inventive, exciting band. They were drawn together 15 years ago after four musicians found themselves jamming in a ferocious session at the All-Ireland Fleadh and recognised kindred spirits. Those four – the twin dueling accordions of Damian McKee and multi-instrumentalist Seán Óg Graham, pianist Liam Bradley and four times All-Ireland bodhrán champion Eamon Murray – were joined in 2005 by Niamh Dunne on vocals and fiddle and the line-up was complete. Beoga have gone on to blow audiences and critics away worldwide with their joyous, vibrant music. They have won countless awards and accolades, have built a great reputation as a charismatic live act, and of course most recently have been the name on everyone’s lips for their collaboration with Ed Sheeran.

Now the five musicians of Beoga join forces with the full forces of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and conductor David Brophy in an ideal musical combination. Both ensembles are known for an eclectic, dynamic approach and a strong connection with their audiences – a connection that saw the RTÉ CO voted World’s Favourite Orchestra in an international poll in 2015.

A stage packed with virtuoso instrumentalists, traditional music rich in influences from blues to Piazzolla to New Orleans, and a huge sense of fun and adventure – this will be a night to remember.
