One of the most magnificent and moving of all choral works, Bach’s St John Passion is a compelling re-telling of the events leading up to Christ’s crucifixion on Good Friday. Operatic in its scale and intensity, it’s a bold, dramatic and emotional experience that speaks of human frailty and divine redemption with overwhelming sincerity. For all faiths and none, it is a masterpiece that gives a human dimension to a story of divine promise and hope.
Under the ‘masterly direction’ (BBC Music Magazine) of conductor David Hill, the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra partner with Chamber Choir Ireland and five, internationally acclaimed soloists for a work as monumental as it is moving.
