Introducing orchestral music to new audiences since 1948, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra is celebrating its 75th Anniversary in 2023. The orchestra’s strong connection with the public saw it voted the World’s Favourite Orchestra in 2015, and its eclectic programming has seen the RTÉ CO perform with artists as diverse as Luciano Pavarotti, Lang Lang, Lalo Schifrin, Marvin Hamlisch and Cleo Laine.
In this Homecoming concert, the orchestra will be joined by its Associate Principal Conductor Gavin Maloney and internationally renowned soprano Celine Byrne, both RIAM alumni, for an eclectic programme that includes the music of Haydn, Richard Strauss and Webern/Bach alongside operatic and popular favourites.
