75th anniversary of Casablanca

Screening with live performance of Max Steiner's score

Released 75 years ago, Casablanca continues to top polls as the best Hollywood movie of them all. The  wartime setting, the romance and humour, the script full of immortal lines, the ensemble cast led by a world-weary Humphrey Bogart, a luminous Ingrid Bergman and a deliciously wry Claude Rains, and Max Steiner’s memorable score all combine to make it the ultimate treat for movie-lovers.

The RTÉ CO presented the European premiere of Casablanca with live score in Dublin in 2011 and brought it back in 2012, to a huge response both years. Many who attended will doubtless want to come back to Casablanca on Friday 25 August at the NCH. For those who missed it, don’t make the same mistake again, you’ll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.
