New Chorus Master appointed for the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir

RTÉ are delighted to announce the appointment of English choral conductor David Young as the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir’s new Chorus Master, succeeding Mark Hindley (2011-18). David prepared the choir between February and April 2019 for Good Friday’s performance of Bach’s St Matthew Passion and will take up his new role in September 2019.

David says: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be taking on this vital role within the RTÉ family. It was a real privilege to meet this extraordinary group of singers back in February, and it’s going to be a wonderful journey getting to know them better and building a musical identity together over the coming years. I can’t wait to get back in the room with them, and I look forward to the many projects we will be bringing to life in the future.”
