RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra LIVE continues in October (Fridays 1, 8, 15, 22 October) with major guest conductors and artists joining for concerts at venues including the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and The Helix. All concerts will be live-streamed on rte.ie/culture and broadcast live on RTÉ lyric fm on Fridays at 7.30pm. The concert at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on Friday 1 October will be with audience.

Highlights will include the debut of Joshua Weilerstein conducting Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto with Denis Kozhukhin, one of the greatest pianists of his generation; the long-awaited Dublin debut of Venezuelan conductor Diego Matheuz in a programme including Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite (1919) and Prokofiev’s Second Violin Concerto with Spanish violinist Leticia Moreno; the young rising star American conductor Ruth Reinhardt conducting that most romantic of symphonies, Rachmaninov’s Second; and two thrilling young talents – Italian conductor Michele Mariotti and Ukrainian pianist Vadym Kholodenko – joining for a concert which includes Rachmaninov’s First Piano Concerto and Dvořák’s ‘New World’ symphony.
