RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra LIVE with conductors Peter Whelan and Killian Farrell and soprano Aoife Miskelly

Fridays 14 and 21 May 2021

RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra LIVE continues on Fridays 14 and 21 May with concerts marking the debuts of conductors Peter Whelan and Killian Farrell and a welcome return performance by soprano Aoife Miskelly. Both concerts will be live-streamed from the National Concert Hall on rte.ie/culture, broadcast live on RTÉ lyric fm and presented by Paul Herriott.

Peter Whelan conducts an all-Mozart programme which includes The Impresario Overture, Symphony No. 39, and arias from Così fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni performed by Aoife Miskelly, praised for her ‘ravishingly good’ (Bachtrack) and ‘exquisitely sung’ (The Times) Mozart.

Killian Farrell, recently appointed First Kapellmeister (Principal Conductor) at Theater Bremen, conducts Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, and Bizet’s First Symphony, written when the composer was just 17.
