RTÉ NSO celebrates Oscar®-winning composer Michael Giacchino

Friday 21 and Saturday 22 June at the National Concert Hall

For the first time in Ireland, over the course of two evenings, the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra celebrates Oscar®-winning composer Michael Giacchino, his music and the iconic TV series, LOST and its Emmy® Award-winning score.

Giacchino’s credits include some of the most popular and acclaimed film projects in recent history. His 2009 score for the Pixar hit Up earned him an Oscar®, a Golden Globe®, BAFTA, Broadcast Film Critics’ Choice Award and two GRAMMY® Awards.

Friday 21 June, A Celebration of the Music of Michael Giacchino including iconic scores and video clips from some of the most popular and acclaimed film projects in recent history, including music from The Incredibles, Jurassic World, Ratatouille, War for the Planet of the Apes, Star Trek, Spider-Man, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Up and Voyage. Giacchino conducts as does Ernst van Tiel.

On Saturday 22 June, a European premiere. Celebrating the iconic TV series LOST – one of the New York Times 2019 Top 20 TV Dramas since The Sopranos and described by Alex Ross of The New Yorker as ‘a phenomenon’ with Giacchino’s contribution being ‘crucial to the show’s cult success’ – Giacchino conducts We Have to Go Back: The LOST Concert Dublin, an evening of music and storytelling featuring the Emmy® Award-winning score, video clips on big screen and special guests including leading TV executive producer Carlton Cuse as presenter.
