Mentoring Scheme for 3rd level and postgraduate performers

The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra invites applications for the 2019/20 Mentoring Scheme:

APPLICATIONS
This scheme is open to all 3rd level and postgraduate performers. Applications must be approved by a Tutor and returned to the designated person in your college by Friday, 13th December 2019.

AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held on Monday, 27th and Tuesday, 28th January 2019 in Dublin (location TBC).

An accompanist can be provided or candidates may bring their own accompanist.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
The standard expected is that of a professional orchestral audition.
To prepare:

WOODWINDS / STRINGS / HARP / TROMBONES
One movement from any classical concerto, plus a contrasting concerto movement.

TRUMPETS
2 contrasting concerto movements

TUBA
2 contrasting pieces

PERCUSSION
2 works of the candidate’s own choice.

At the audition each candidate will be given prepared orchestral excerpts to perform, copies of which are available at the links below, and also unprepared excerpts.
