RTÉ Cór na nÓg was formed in 1985 by Colin Mawby,  for children aged 10-15  and is one of Ireland’s leading children’s choirs. We currently have 62 members (trebles, SSAA).
We meet in Dublin twice a week during term time and sing up to 12 concerts per season, with repertoire ranging from Bach to Beatles! Over the years the choir has sung in hundreds of events, working with guest musicians of the highest calibre in exciting venues such as the National Concert Hall, Christ Church Cathedral and the 3 Arena. There are regular appearances on RTÉ TV and Radio as well as performances with RTÉ’s two orchestras, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra.

We provide first-class musical education in a relaxed and happy atmosphere where our young singers can develop both vocally and socially.  Repertoire is varied and challenging, the only stipulation being that it is the very best music of its genre. We could be singing Mozart one day and an Irish traditional air the next – it’s one of the things that makes our choir such fun!  Many of our members go on to make music a regular part of their lives, singing at school, college and in other choirs such as the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir. Life-long friendships are formed and many have returned as Cór staff, including Jennifer, Carole and Ciarán!
We normally advertise for places in January, run auditions in February and a Training Choir March – May and admit new members each September. Contact Lesley for more information  lesley.bishop@rte.ie

Singing is not just a hobby for us it is a vital part of who we are, and as we head into our futures we go confidently wherever we go knowing that we have been given, literally, voices for life.

Last night's performance was the best experience of my life, I felt confident, proud and capable of ANYTHING! - Cór member 2018
