Seán Keane
David Brophy, conductor

Seán Keane, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and conductor David Brophy return for a very special night of exquisite arrangements new and old, imbued with warmth, intimacy and a touch of humour.

Striking covers include renditions of Piper to the End and Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears, while moving orchestral arrangements of Nature’s Little Symphony and other songs from the 2018 album Gratitude showcase Keane’s unique and penetrating voice and his captivating talent as a multi-instrumentalist.

Voted performer of the year by readers of Irish Music Magazine in 1997/1998 and 1998/1999, and described as ‘the greatest Irish musical find of the ‘90s’ (London Independent), Seán Keane has released eleven solo albums and collaborated on five others; his style seamlessly blends folk, trad, pop, blues and country. From the small village of Caherlistrane near Tuam, Co. Galway, Keane grew up steeped in music and tradition, and has since toured – along with his band, comprised of the talented Fergus Feely and Shane McGowan – all over Ireland, Europe and the US.

Presented by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
