RTÉ Concert Orchestra Emily Dickinson celebration

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra is joined by David Brophy and guests for an hour-long Emily Dickinson radio special for Bank Holiday Monday. Featuring readings by students, Emma Donoghue and Stephen Rea and music inspired by Dickinson performed by the orchestra with Ryan O’Shaughnessy, Naomi Louisa O’Connell and Susannah de Wrixon.

Music includes Billie Eilish’s ‘Bury a Friend’, ‘Because I Could Not Stop for Death’ by Susan McKeown, Carla Bruni’s ‘I Went To Heaven’ and ‘I Felt My Life With Both My Hands’, ‘Will There Really Be a Morning?’ by Craig Johnson, Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘The Dangling Conversation’, and Ronald Perera’s Five Summer Songs on Poems of Emily Dickinson. The RTÉ CO will also perform Copland’s Appalachian Spring.
